In Feb, 2007 the Village Veterinary Hospital received a call about a deceased cat found in a client’s driveway. The assistant who answered the phone offered to help the client and went right over to his house.
After a second look, she realized the cat was still breathing, so she took off her coat, wrapped up the cat and ran back to the hospital.
The cat was so cold our thermometers couldn’t register and the poor thing could hardly move. But after a few hours of gentle warming and loving care, the cat’s temperature was 33degrees (should be 38!) and he was eating, even though he could hardly pick his head up.
Chilli, as the cat was eventually named, lived in the offices of the hospital where he was very spoiled, until June, 2011 when he moved to his retirement home with Emily, the technician.
Chilli’s story is defiantly a Happy Tail. Had that client called us 10 minutes later, we may have never known this funny old man!
