Surgery

At East Hants Animal Hospital, our main priority for your pet’s surgery is their safety; before, during and after the procedure. All of our patients are screened for organ function prior to any surgery and anesthetics are specifically tailored to suit the individual needs of your pet. Our surgical patients all receive an IV catheter and IV fluids before, during and after the procedure.  Our veterinarians are skilled in the latest surgical techniques and our technicians are fully trained to administer and monitor anesthesia. Should your pet require a more specialized surgery we also have an orthopedic surgeon available on-site, or we can refer you to another specialist that can assist you.

We offer a wide range of surgical services including:

  • Spay/Neuter
  • Soft Tissue Surgery
  • Lumpectomy
  • Specialized Cherry Eye Technique (gland of the 3rd eye lid surgery)
  • Dental Surgery (extractions, soft tissue mass removals)
